Just Nick: Red Panda Bitmap bitcrusher

A stunning array of sounds created by manipulating the bit resolution and sampling rate of A/D/A conversion. Distortions, ring mod-like sounds, complex harmonic interactions and subtle haloes, it’s all in this box. You can also control the sampling rate with a standard expression pedal and/or modulate the sampling rate according to three wave shapes. Unique, powerful and forward looking! Input level switch makes the pedal easy to use with different pickups, keyboards, bass, drum machines, whatever! Demonstrated here by itself and with a Red Panda Context reverb and an EMMA Reez distortion pedal.

Greer Amps Introduces the Southland Harmonic Overdrive

Sep14_LNU_Greer_Southland_WEB

Athens, GA (September 24, 2014) — We are happy to announce the release of a new product. The Southland Harmonic Overdrive is our newest offering, in the Greer Amps line. Building on the Lightspeed platform, we have developed what we believe to be the best overdrive on the market. The Lightspeed was built with the specific purpose of being a light to mild overdrive. The Southland is the next logical step for the Lightspeed platform—more gain, a focused midrange (not that annoying “hump”), and a bit of presence on top of the signal, to help cut through the mix. This pedal, like the Lightspeed, is touch sensitive, responds to pick attack, and has dynamics that just won’t stop. On top of that, we’ve selected a chip to drive the Southland that takes it to the next level.

The Southland is available for dealers to pre-order now. We will be officially releasing these, for shipping, and publishing them on our website on October 14, 2014. We will be building up a stockpile of these units, in hopes that we won’t get bogged down on the production side of things with the Southland.

Just Nick: Dusky Electronics D₂O 32-Watt 6L6 Head

Just Nick with two videos featuring the Dusky Electronics D₂O 32-Watt 6L6 Head.  The first is a straight-ahead demo of the amp.  The 2nd gives you an idea of how well it works as a pedal platform.

A totally original, ultra-toneful 2x6L6 cathode biased head. James-type tone stack, Valco-type inverter, Vox-type Cut control, 6SL7 preamp tubes, 8-watt low power setting–it all adds up to the perfect clean pedal-platform or low wattage raging monster. Does everything Just Nick needs, and works great as a bass amp too! Grab one now–you’ll thank me later.

In this video we’ll look at how and why the D₂O excels as a clean (and dirty!) platform to combine with any type of pedal for unlimited sounds and volume levels.

Special Edition Pedals with Premium Sound, All-Analog Circuitry, and More

Los Angeles, CA, July 15, 2014 — BOSS is pleased to announce the Waza Craft series, a new line of special edition compact pedals that offers players the ultimate BOSS tone experience. The debut of the Waza Craft series includes the SD-1W Super Overdrive, BD-2W Blues Driver, and DM-2W Delay. All three pedals provide the classic sound signatures of the past and present BOSS pedals they’re based on, plus switchable modes for customized tones sought after by discerning guitarists.

Designed with a passion for premium sound by the master engineers at BOSS in Japan, the Waza Craft series introduces a new chapter in the company’s legacy of exceptional tone. Through meticulously-selected analog components, refined circuitry, and careful attention to the finest design details, Waza Craft embodies the essence of BOSS engineering and the spirit of generations of technical and musical wisdom.

The BOSS BD-2 Blues Driver is also one of the most popular overdrive pedals in the world, and the Waza Craft BD-2W takes this classic’s signature creamy grit to a new level. Like the SD-1W, the BD-2W is built with all-discrete analog components and a revised circuit, and features Standard and Custom sound modes.

Highly sought after since being discontinued in 1984, the BOSS DM-2 Delay is universally revered by tone aficionados for its warm, “bucket brigade” analog delay sound. With the Waza Craft DM-2W, the coveted stomp has been reborn with greater versatility for today’s music styles. Using all-analog circuitry and an authentic BBD delay line, the DM-2W’s Standard mode captures the lush sound and 20-300 ms delay range of the original DM-2. Custom mode instantly changes the sound to a cleaner analog tone with over twice the delay time.

The DM-2W also includes a jack for controlling delay time with an optional expression pedal. Two output jacks allow for separate output of delay and direct sounds if desired.
